Elaine and Guinevere, was originally published about 1859 and although there is no date of publication in this book for sale, I have seen this exact edition quoted as being printed in 1908. The poem retells the legend of King Arthur, his knights, his love of Guinevere and her tragic betrayal of him, and the rise and fall of King Arthur's Kingdom. The poem is thought to be an allegory of the social conflicts in the British Victorian Society of the mid 1860's. Part of The Ariel Books series by G.P. Putnam.
